Thanks to recent union victories, the CCPU Training Fund is offering exciting temporary leadership and support roles designed to empower family child care educators like you! Apply today for one of these rewarding roles: Peer Leaders, Peer Facilitators, Intensive Peer Mentors, or Technical Assistance Peer Mentors.

These roles allow you to lead, mentor, and support fellow educators while gaining invaluable experience in community-building and leadership—building power not just for yourself, but for the entire field of family child care. Please note, you may only apply for one role. Apply by September 23rd

Peer Leader

  • Overview: Facilitate monthly gatherings for 15 providers in Educator-Led Communities of Care, fostering mutual support and community building.

  • Time Commitment: 40 hours over 7 months.

Intensive Peer Facilitator

  • Overview: Lead in-person and online trainings on business or child development for groups ranging from 35 to 500 participants.

  • Time Commitment: 90-150 hours over 6 months.

Intensive Peer Mentor

  • Overview: Provide one-on-one mentorship to help a fellow educator achieve SMART goals for their family child care.

  • Time Commitment: 110 hours over 6 months.

Technical Assistance Peer Mentor

  • Overview: Support educators with essential tech skills like using Excel, Word, and basic computer operations.


Eligibility and Compensation

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be a California-based family child care educator

  • Have cared for at least one subsidized child in the past 12 months

  • Be able to meet the time commitment for the role

Compensation: All roles are paid and open to both Licensed and Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) providers.
